Is your Home Period 9 ready?


Many new homes that were launched in recent years, some already poised for occupancy and others just a few years away. Those ready before 4-Feb 2024 embody the distinctive charm of Period 8 homes, while those after seamlessly usher in the sophistication of Period 9 living.


Just like every child has a day of birth, so does your home. When you move in, that becomes the 'date of birth,' guiding the energy flow within.

Why the important?   

We believe in placing essential areas like the Main Door, Bedrooms, study, and Kitchen in auspicious positions within the home. Imagine wealth in the living area, relationships flourishing in the Bedroom – it’s Feng Shui excellence.  


As the Chinese saying goes, '风水轮流转' - Feng Shui varies over time. What's good now may not be forever, especially as we transition to the auspicious Period 9 in the coming years.


For example, the Wealth sector of your home will not be the same when entering Period 9. And what can be a favourable bedroom for good health could be otherwise as the energies residing in the living spaces of the home in both Periods are different.

Using the above floorplan of an East-facing Home, as an illustration, its Main Door is located in the West sector of the unit. This can be considered a Wealth Main Door in Period 8 (from 2004-2023) represented by Chart A, where the occupants can enjoy Good Feng Shui, especially relating to Wealth-related matters. However, if it is a Period 9 home as represented by Chart B, the Main Door will be qualified as an inauspicious door. This could bring about unfavorable events, and bad endeavors to the occupants, such as illness, financial loss, mishaps, etc.

Generally, it is impossible to change the ‘date of birth’ of the home if it is part of the condominium or apartment development, with the exception of landed properties. Some will be thinking, in order to benefit from a Period 9 home, will they need to move house then?  


The answer to this is that for houses that were built before 4-Feb 2024, it may not be necessary to change house, but they can consider reassessing their home if it is also Period 9 compliant, perhaps with some minor changes, whether it is a new or existing home.


It will be preferred to do your research to find out if there is any impact on your existing home. Perhaps you have just purchased your new home or considering owning one that will be ready in a few years' time. 


Besides reassessing your home by yourself, seeking professional advice from a Feng Shui practitioner can also be another option.

An Untold Wealth story of a North-facing Home

Many developments whether in the past or recently are built in the North-South orientation. Coincidentally, this is also in line with the upcoming Qi transformation of Period 9 starting from 4-Feb 2024 till 2043.


Using Treasure at Tampines as an illustration, it is observed that based on its site plan, generally all the homes are built in the N-S facing, most of them are overlooking the water pools, except those facing either the Main road or the Highway.

As the Homes built in this Development is uniformly oriented, those units that are able to “see” water in the Southwest and/or North from their windows or balcony, can be rated with better Feng Shui capacity, where the residents will be blessed with bountiful of Wealth prospects.

Let go through a Case Study
5 Bedroom Homes with Main Door opens to wealth growth

Based on the Energy Map of this North-facing home in Period 9, this Unit A is facing the swimming pool in the North, and Main Door is opened in the Southwest sector.

Water in the North is not only favorable for wealth generation but also open to investment opportunities, specifically favorable for those in the entertainment, beauty, fashion, and creative or design industries. 

The double 9 in the energy map also indicates fostering good people luck relating to better health, and relationships matters. Asa matter of fact, the common bedroom where the double 9 resides is the most prosperous room as it could be the primary wealth sector of the home.

On the other hand noticed that Unit B in the neighboring block, although it has the same facing as Unit A, its endeavors could be similar, but its capacity can be otherwise as water is not directly present outside its balcony. Nevertheless, Unit B can still be considered a relatively good unit, and a more detailed analysis can be useful to further increase its Feng Shui index enabling a more conducive home for the residents.

I must emphasize that the example above mentioned can generally apply to most North-facing homes, as Water in the North is one of the criteria for a property to be Period 9 compliant.

Whether the properties are low or high-rise, they are usually pre-built by the developers. Therefore, you will need more effort to select your dream home as it is more difficult to "align" your home to harness the energies in its environment.

Your Nightmare begins with the Disturbed Afflictions

A Northeast facing Home with the Annual Afflictions and Monthly Stars Chart

Recently, a close client of mine was feeling rather frustrated and disappointed that one of her colleagues and also a close friend for many years had betrayed her, snatching her client by sealing a property deal that she was about to close, behind her back unethically. She was asking what had gone wrong, and what could be done to undo the situation. 

"Your Nightmare begins when the Annual Afflictions are disturbed!"

I've performed an onsite assessment and observed that the study room that she usually used for her work is in the Northeast sector of her home, and currently there is massive construction work outside her study room. 

As the incident occurred in the month of July, based on the Xuan Kong Monthly flying star, star #3 also resided in the Northeast sector as well. 

Through this observation, she might have violated the annual negative affliction of the Grand Duke or Tai Sui (太岁) this  year, coupled with Star #3 which governs conflicts, litigation, and disputes, hence the bad endeavor she might have encountered.

Besides the above-mentioned, this can happen to other incidents relating to the loss of wealth.

Although the Monthly Star #3 is just transitional energy in the Northeast for the month of July, the annual affliction can be pretty much active and last for the entire year. 

A remedial cure was implemented to negate or at least reduce the negative impact of the Grand Duke on the home, and also suggested recommendations to deal with the incident.

Whose Home Value is Higher: Yours or your Neighbour?

Since the recent article and video story that I’ve posted relating to Pasir Ris 8, there were several interests for home selection consultations, particularly on the 2-bedroom apartment type in this newly launched integrated development.

If you have not read or watch its story, find out more here.


One of the requests were asking is there a difference in the Feng Shui quality between the 2 properties located on the same building, with the same floor area, but mirror floor layout, perhaps even locating side by side to each other sharing the same wall.

Generally based on Classical Feng Shui principles, the answer is a “Yes”, and the difference can be great.

In life, we must agree that no 2 individuals are the same, even for Twins, Triplets, and Quadruplets.  They can look alike but their personalities can be very different in nature. 

Similar to properties, no 2 Homes are the same. They can have the same floor layout and size, located just next door, side by side to each other, or perhaps located in other buildings within the same development. However, the occupants in these homes can encounter different endeavors in life.

Let go through some examples using the Main Door as the analysis focus based on 2-Bedroom units which satisfy the above-mentioned request; i.e. Both units have the same floor area, but mirror floor layout sharing the same wall.

Example #1
Based on the House Chart, it is observed that Unit A has its Main Door opened in the Northwest at the Door of Rest (休) supported by the Six Harmony (合). This is a relatively auspicious Main Door under the lens of Qi Men Feng Shui  (奇门风水). 

The combination of these energies is an important component for a Family Home, fostering and strengthening family ties, better health, as well as a more harmonious interpersonal relationship with others as the Main Door is the gateway to the “outside business world” for incoming wealth to the family.

Example #2
On the Other hand, Unit B which shared the same wall as Unit A has its Main Door opened in the Northeast at the Door of Harm (伤) supported by the Red Phoenix (雀). In general, the former denotes injuries, harm, or conflicts, while the latter indicates the occupants can be highly vocal, and argumentative. When both energies reside at the Main Door, this indicates the residents could be endearing in frustration, conflicts, perhaps disharmony among themselves, and this is not a good sign in family bonding.

However, this home is great for those whose career or business involving speaking; such as a spokesperson of the company, lawyers, public speakers, or any people whose livelihood involves speaking, etc.

Hence, the above examples demonstrate that a property with the same floor area as its neighbour, although they are just next door, the residents can be endearing different outcomes.

Besides the floor layout, the external environment plays an important role in selecting your Dream Home, as whatever positive energies that could reside within your Home can only be realized if its external environment can provide, as there is a saying: "If you do not have hair, you can't perm hair". Here, Hair refers to the environment.

North-South facing homes have always been in part of many homebuyers' favorite checklist.

Redefining the Purpose of your Dream Home

With the Circuit Breaker lifted and entering into phase 2, the housing market has since reviving gradually and becoming more active. In addition, if a water placement is installed in the North sector, this can benefit the occupants who work or own a business related to sales & marketing, or the communication sector. 

However, the auspicious energies residing in some of the essential areas may differ in capacity in the coming few years when transiting to Period 9 in 2024.
